AI Soldiers
Fixer for an MBC documentary on AI and the military, filmed in the U.S. Not yet aired.
I'm Jay (Jaewoo) Park, a former Radio Free Asia journalist and North Korea researcher at HRNK, based in the DC area. I've spent years driving these streets every day. From Congress and the White House to North Korea stories, I book the interviews, drive the crew and translate in the room, so you can spend your days filming.

Send me your datesMost recently, fixer for MBC's upcoming documentary AI Soldiers.
I find and book interviewees, scout locations and sort out press access for the Capitol, the State Department and the White House.
When a location falls through at 8 am, I have a backup ready.
Can't fly a crew in? I cover hearings, briefings, rallies and events for you and send back footage, notes and translated quotes.
I reported for Radio Free Asia's Korean service, so I can also file phone or video reports in Korean.
Airport pickups at Dulles, Reagan National and BWI, then full days driving crew and gear around the region in my 2018 Ford EcoSport, with seats for three plus gear.
I know where you can stop, unload and park downtown, which saves hours.
Korean–English interpreting during interviews, plus transcripts, subtitles and translated release forms afterwards.
I've reported from Washington for years, interviewing officials such as NSC spokesperson John Kirby and Secretary of State Antony Blinken. I can cover any Washington story your audience needs, not only North Korea.
I covered North Korea from Washington for Radio Free Asia and now research it at HRNK. Much of the U.S. debate on North Korea happens here, and I help crews reach the people in it and film them on short notice.
From downtown DC, outside rush hour. Between 7–9:30 am and 4–7 pm these can double, so I plan the shoot day around traffic.
Estimates only. Motorcades and road closures are common in DC.

Field reporting from Washington, Senegal and the seas near China, and stories picked up by international media.
My Korean series about America as seen from the driver's seat: essays, videos and stories from years of driving around Washington.
Foreign journalists on assignment usually need an I (media) visa, not a tourist visa or ESTA. Apply through the U.S. embassy in your country. I can't arrange visas, but I can send you the shoot schedule and locations for your application.
The Mall is National Park Service land. Everyday news filming usually doesn't need a permit, but large setups, staged scenes or blocked paths can. Send me your plan and I'll check what applies before you arrive.
Filming inside needs press gallery credentials, which take time to get. Exteriors and stand-ups on the grounds are much easier. Tell me early if a hearing is part of the story so we can plan for both.
Two to three weeks is ideal, especially for interview requests to think tanks and congressional offices. I can often help with same-week requests too, so ask anyway.
Yes, by car. Baltimore is about 1 hour, Richmond about 2 hours, Philadelphia about 2.5 hours and New York about 4 hours. Longer trips are quoted with mileage and overnight costs.
Rates depend on the length of the shoot and what you need. Send me your plan for a quote in USD. Overtime, tolls, parking and trips outside the DC area are billed separately.
